As I mentioned in my little rant a while ago, about Copyright Violations, the model for banning users based on allegations is fundamentally flawed. Now Google has submitted a detailed criticism of the law, and has found the following
"Google notes that more than half (57%) of the takedown notices it has received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act 1998, were sent by business targeting competitors and over one third (37%) of notices were not valid copyright claims."
See? you don't need proof to "claim" someone has infringed on your copyright. However, if you are accused, the burden of proof lies on you. BAD SYSTEM!!!
